Unable to afford Enbrel due to no health insurance.

I had to stop taking Enbrel because i moved from Indiana to Kentucky,so my insurance was cancelled.I am unable to work. My husband is disabled and we only get what he gets from Social Security. I thought i would qualify for medicaid,but was told i didn't fall under any of their categories. Anyone have any suggestions.I tried to apply for disability but was told mine wasnt that bad. But now it has gotten to the point, i can barely walk,need help going to the bathroom. Cant cook anything. My left hand fingers are turning. Cant bend my right arm straight. Please any advice will be appreciated.

Well now my doctor has switched me to Humira. I havent been on any meds for RA for almost a year,and now I am in a wheelchair,unable to walk,plus both arms are swollen to where I cant bend them from the elbow. I have reapplied for SSD and have a appt on Feb 16th. I am looking to apply for assistance for Humira. I already have a lawyer in case it is denied. So wanted to update everyone with my RA. How much a chance I have getting approved i dont know.Any thoughts from anyone?

I know how you feel..just same like us paint with out enbrel medication..
Current i using ENBREL SureClick 50mg OFR MY ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS..But i Still have alot .If you would like i will sharing to you 5 box for free let you use for at moment.IF YOU CAN DRIVE TO MALL OF AMERICA IN MINNESOTA -

Call 1-888 - 4 - ENBREL and somebody there should be able to assist you. Explain that you no longer have insurance and that you cannot afford your Enbrel anymore.

Nana Rachall July 19 at 12:19 am0 LikesAlso I did my disability thru a lawyer and was approved. Find one where you are that has done this. No money up front. When you are awarded your back disability pay SSD will send them their like 3%

lovenloyalty July 20 at 3:27 pm0 LikesI just got approved for disability through an appeal. I did not use a lawyer. I went and represented myself. I suffer from RA, Hypertension, and Hep C. I also have got in my left foot. Waiting for my payment now. I applied in 11/2009, but they only want to pay me from 3/2011.

I wonder if you bought bare bones basic insurance if you would then qualify.

:( Hugs, Tamra. I don't know why it is so hard for people with RA to get disability! I would think you could get on it from what you wrote. I know Enbrel has an assistance program and maybe it's on their site.
