Food & Winter

That's right! It's Winter and we're tired, hurt and hungry. What to eat? What do YOU eat to keep up your energy and keep down the weight during the cold, miserable Winter months?
In the morning I prefer plain, thick yogurt and put this on the top: ground flaxseed, chia seeds, hemps seeds, cranberries, cereal (ie rice krispies), fruit (banana, blueberries, strawberries, rasperries, etc often from the freezer), walnuts. This keeps me going until about 3pm. In the Winter we have our big meal late in the afternoon then soup&salad or something light about 7pm. I usually am not hungry in the evening but for something to drink and maybe an apple. My parents are German and Slovak so I have an appetite…no skinny but not overweight. I eat when hungry and found this works best for me.
Over the years I have found that potatoes, wheat, sugar & corn affect me greatly so I either avoid these or have them rarely. I am the cook in our house so this works out fine. What about YOU? What do you eat in the Winter? How is you activity level? Or do you hibernate?
